Hello!
I am Gabrielle Vézina.
I am an author and knitting pattern designer, trained programmer, and mother of two adorable children. I live in Montreal, Quebec. I strive to live slowly and consciously, with gentleness.
Creation has been a part of me since forever. From childhood, I was fortunate to learn design concepts from my mother, who was a fashion teacher, and to do all my experiments in her sewing room. After a career as a programmer for nearly 20 years, I combined my two passions to “code” knitting patterns, the perfect marriage between my logical side and my creative side.
I created this website to share my knitting knowledge on the medium I know best, the web. I hope to pass on my passion to you in a space that is pleasant to explore.

About my knitting patterns
I create knitting patterns that all knitters can enjoy, from beginners looking to learn new techniques to advanced knitters who enjoy challenges. My designs can be worn every day thanks to their contemporary or timeless style, offering knitters immediate satisfaction and pride. I particularly enjoy using lace and colorwork techniques. I also have a fondness for designs that can be knitted using leftover yarn.
My knitting patterns are published in magazines, books, or independently. Some are published in collaboration with various fiber companies. My complete catalog is available on my designer page on Ravelry. My book, “Lovely Lace Knits” (Page Street Publishing), was published in March 2023.

- I am an eternal optimist, a very positive person.
- I live in a big city, but it's nature that inspires me.
- I am a senior web developer, and I have a great passion for Excel spreadsheets.
- I often invent my patterns while dozing off, when putting my children to bed.
- I can knit in the dark, while talking, watching TV, or reading. I can also knit while walking, and I do it every day when the weather is nice!
- I practice positive parenting with my children, and I am very gentle with all humans. Respect and inclusivity are at the core of my interactions.
