A while ago I wrote about some of my patterns being published in Interweave publications in 2014… and the first one is now available! It’s a special issue from Interweave called Enchanted Knits and I swear it is full of wonderful patterns! I am super extremely and intensely over excited about this precise pattern being published in this magazine for four reasons: I love this pattern with all my heart, this is one of my favorite along with the Sylvania Shawl that shares the same leaf pattern; this is my first cardigan pattern that gets through all the steps of writing, testing and publishing; the magazine is beautiful and the theme is the fairy tales which as always inspired me; and being published is totally warming my heart, I get a LOT of love and positive messages and it gives me the biggest creative boost I could ever have!
So let me introduce to you the Sylvania Cardigan!
I couldn’t describe this pattern better than Interweave does, so here is what is written in the magazine:
Take your cue from the elves, dryads, satyrs, and other forest dwellers with this cardigan. A large leaf pattern and many cables take root at the bottom edge, while the dark leaf pattern gives a mysterious air. Explore your own sylvan side as you make your way through this versatile design, which comes together like magic: knitted from the top down, it is joined at the underarm and worked seamlessly.
And here’s a few of my own pictures, I made two cardigans, the red one is the first prototype and it’s a little different from the official pattern. I love both and I can’t wait to have the purple back home to wear it all the time!
