This stashbusting knitting pattern is a downloadable PDF that guides you to knit a scrunchie with two frills, worked seamlessly over an elastic hair tie. This hair accessory can be made with any yarn from your stash or yarn leftovers, and the pattern includes clear instructions for every step.
This cute accessory will brighten up your days and embellish your hair! The Filigree Scrunchie is an original way to use up leftover yarns from other projects. It can be made with either one or two colors, and requires very little yardage for an instant knitting satisfaction. The seamless construction is sure to create a polished accessory that will add a romantic touch to your buns and pony tails.
Construction
The Filigree Scrunchie starts with a provisional cast-on. For the first few rounds, it is worked in stockinette stitch in the round, to create a cover piece for an elastic hair tie. Once this piece is completed, the provisional cast on is undone and placed on extra needles. The piece is turned upside down and the hair tie is placed in the middle. Both sides of live stitches are joined together, covering the hair tie. A lace frill is worked from those stitches. Once the first frill is completed, the stitches are picked up from the joining round and a second frill is worked.
