This knitting pattern is a downloadable PDF that guides you to create an easy lace shawl worked sideways in stockinette stitch and easy lace knitting. The pattern is adaptable in size and can be worked with any yarn weight and yardage. It includes clear instructions for every step.

Loulou Lace Shawl is a lightweight, versatile shawl worked sideways in an easy and lovely lace pattern. The lace is worked on right side rows only, making it relaxing to knit while still offering enough interest to keep you engaged. Using only basic stitches, this pattern is well suited for beginner lace knitters as well as lace enthusiasts who enjoy a simple project that adapts to the yarn they have on hand and results in a shawl that is easy to wear.

Construction
The shawl is worked sideways, starting with a small number of stitches and gradually increasing toward the center point, where it reaches its maximum width. From there, stitches are decreased until only a few stitches remain, while the lace pattern continues. The pattern allows you to work the increases using one chart and the decreases using a different chart, or to insert a transition chart between them to better accommodate the yardage you have on hand.

Adaptable pattern
The pattern is easily adaptable in size, yarn weight, and yardage. The sample shown was knit using approximately 470 yards (430 meters) of DK weight yarn, but the shawl works beautifully with about 400 to 800 yards (365 to 730 meters) of fingering to worsted weight yarn, depending on the desired size and drape.
